JK Anganwadi Recruitment 2026 Notification

Eligibility Conditions

Candidates applying for the Sangini and Sahayika posts must fulfill the eligibility conditions prescribed by the Office of the Child Development Project Officer, POSHAN Project URI, Baramulla.

  • Only women candidates are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must be domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
  • The candidate should be a permanent resident of the electoral ward where the notified Anganwadi Centre is located.
  • The name of the applicant must appear in the voter list of the concerned ward as proof of residence.
  • Candidates whose names appear in the voter list along with their parents must submit an unmarried certificate issued by the concerned Tehsildar.

  • For the Sahayika post, preference will be given to the most needy or destitute married women of the concerned ward. Unmarried women may be considered only if no eligible married candidate is available.
  • Candidates belonging to the family of a retiring Anganwadi worker or Anganwadi helper will receive an additional 2% weightage in the merit list.

Education & Age Limit

Educational Qualification

Sangini (Anganwadi Worker)

  • Minimum qualification: 10+2 (higher secondary) passed.
  • Maximum qualification: Graduation.
  • Candidates possessing qualifications higher than graduation are not eligible.
  • If no eligible 10+2 candidate is available in the concerned ward, a candidate from the adjoining ward may be considered with approval from the Mission Director, Mission Poshan.

Sahayika (Anganwadi Helper)

  • Minimum qualification: Matriculation (Class 10).
  • If no matriculation pass candidate is available, candidates who have passed Class 8 may be considered.
  • The maximum educational qualification considered for the Helper post is Class 10 as per the applicable HR policy.

Honorarium

The Sangini and Sahayika posts are purely honorary engagements under the POSHAN Project. The notification does not mention a fixed monthly honorarium. Selected candidates will receive the honorarium applicable under the Jammu & Kashmir Mission Poshan guidelines and Government Orders in force.

Selection will be carried out strictly on merit and government guidelines.
